James Clear in Atomic Habits stresses the difference between goals and strategies. Our New Yearโs resolutions are goals, but not all of us keep them because weโve not put in place strategies to achieve them. May we suggest two strategies to help you achieve your 2024 goals?
The first way to keep our resolve fresh is by traveling around the world and renewing our resolutions on New Years that are celebrated each month! If you so choose, hereโs your itinerary: China in February for the Chinese New Year; in March, Bali and countries with significant Zoroastrian populations. In April, off to India for Tamil and Punjabi New Years, and in June and July, to Africa for Senegalese, Gambian, Mauritanian, and Zulu celebrations. Then, head north-by-northeast to the Middle East in September for Coptic and Jewish celebrations, and return to India in October and November to celebrate with the Gujarati, Sikhs, Hindi, and Jains. Finally, bundle up and join the Aleuts and Inuits in Alaska and the Northwest Territories to welcome their New Year.
